Anxiety

Whats You’re Goal?

Do you have a goal? Does it seem insurmountable?  Whether it is a personal goal, or an academic/career goal, you can break this goal into smaller steps. This is called laddering.

Drawer a ladder, put your goal at the top, then put the first baby step at the bottom. Once you have done this you can insert gradual steps in between. Be proud of each step you make.  Each one is a valuable part of your journey.

If you would like help increasing motivation, consider Hypnotherapy. If you have emotional “blocks” that prevent you climbing your ladder, consider counselling.

Be your own project and invest in yourself. Don’t wait for others to boost you. Have the self worth to invest in yourself. When those that love you see you fly, they will be your best supporters, but imagine the pride you will have if you start the journey with your own power.

WORKSHOP UNDERSTANDING AND COPING WITH ANXIETY

I will be hosting this workshop on 2nd June 2018 at 16.00 hrs until 18.00 hrs.

This workshop will help you to gain a good understanding of why we suffer from anxiety and how it affects us both mentally and physically. There will be an opportunity to ask questions. This will enable you to understand both yourself and those around you, enabling you to take appropriate action.

The aim of this workshop is to give healthy coping mechanisms and strategies for handling anxiety. These skills can be transferred to others in your family, particularly children during times of stress.

On completion of this workshop you will be better able to manage your anxiety and have the knowledge and techniques to help your children.

This workshop will be held at Abacus Tutoring Academy, 10/12 Culley Court, Orton Southgate. Peterborough. PE2 6WA in conduction with Baobab Hypnotherapy and Counselling Services.

Do you need to address your eating habits?

Attempting to change your eating habits overnight isn’t sensible or clever. Altering everything at once usually leads to cheating or quitting on your new eating plan.

Changing your attitude towards food and increasing your motivation to exercise is the only way to achieve long lasting results.

Hypnotherapy can help you achieve this by altering your mindset. The subconscious mind can be addressed, whilst the conscious mind is quiet, helping to change habits and coping mechanisms that we have learned over the years.

Counselling, either alone or alongside hypnotherapy, can help us address the underlying issues that have caused the problem in the first place. Eating disorders, of any sort, bingeing, starving, or any version of those, stem from a time when we required a defense mechanism to help us cope with our feelings.

Take the first step towards your goal. Call, message or email me to arrange a free telephone consultation.

Are Childhood Issues Holding You Back?

When a client comes to see me, I ask them “what brings you here?” Sometimes the answer is “I don’t know but I just don’t feel right” often they say that are stressed, anxious or depressed. Although the here and now is the starting point, the lead up to the unsettled feelings need to be examined. There may or may not be hidden trauma, but when there is and the trauma is addressed, it is like starting life afresh, the cloud lifts and we can move forwards.

Allowing Yourself to Feel

None of us like to feel hurt. Painful emotions are difficult to handle, we develop coping mechanisms to avoid them. To an extent this is healthy, but if we never allow ourselves to “feel”, those hurtful feeling will just resurface and gain momentum.

So just take time to simply “be”. Breath and know that the feelings will pass, you will feel better. You will come through the other side, and you will learn that feeling these emotions won’t destroy you.

Counselling and Hypnotherapy can help us work through difficult emotions, firstly need to recognise them, understand them then address them. This process brings healing and inner peace.

How Are Your Resolutions Going?

Why don’t our resolutions last? On  average our resolutions last three weeks, this is because that is the amount of time, realistically, that our focus can remain on the habit we are either trying to stop or start. Without changing out core beliefs, we will slip back to our old patterns of behaviour, it is simply too much for out conscious mind to remain alert and override our learned behaviour for much longer than three weeks. Our subconscious mind is our default, and we return to that setting unless we actively set about making changes. However using counselling and/or hypnosis to challenge and reframe those beliefs , then we can make permanent changes.

Christmas is Coming!

The countdown appears to have begun. For some that will bring a feeling of childlike excitement, planning a festive, happy, busy time. Most of us have had years like that, but for some, Christmas and other celebrations just heighten our feelings of anxiety, maybe money is a problem, or grief for years gone by, before the loss of loved ones.

We may feel pressure to look good, provide the perfect day and all the associated stresses and strains.

Learning to relax and and having time to be still and take one day at a time, is a skill that will help us through these times. Hypnotherapy is a tremendously useful tool to help us do this and Counselling for grief and loss can help us move forward and create new, positive memories.

Give yourself a gift this year, the gift of self awareness and discover your inner strength. As you do this you will cope so much better with life in general and the festive season will not fill you with dread. You will get it in proportion and enjoy it in your way, a way thats right for you.

What Can Hypnotherapy Do For You?

Hypnotherapy uses hypnosis to help us to change our mindset. The patterns and habits that are deep within our psyche are more easily accessed and changed when we are in the focussed state of hypnosis. So whether it is a fear, phobia, habit or general anxiety, hypnotherapy is an effective tool to help reprogram ourselves and free us from the ingrained patterns of our past.
